Dreams

They say love makes the world go round, I say dreams keep it in perfect motion,

Dreams determine how far we reach into the universe or venture down the sea.

Those who have stood by their dreams have often succeeded or gotten wiser,

They have found joy and contentment for not being afraid to follow their passions.

Dreams will at times force us to make unpopular decisions that leave us lonely,

 Holding onto nothing but a flicker of hope that despite today`s rain and pain,

Tomorrow the sun will shine and everything will be fine and we will live our dream.

Dreams have mended and broken hearts; killed doubled minded men with no stand,

Dreams are preserved the strong-willed enough to pursue their dreams to the end.

They keep the world on its toes as they dictate the rhythm and pace of life,

Heroes, saints and legends are made of dreams as they lived and died their dreams.

Your Photograph

Looking at your photograph makes me sad,

I see your beautiful brown eyes and know,

That I can`t have you all for myself,

I know that I`ll never have a chance to touch,

Your lips gently as you sleep gracefully beside me.

 I`ll never be the one to whisper into your ears,

Just how bold, brave and special you are,

I`ll never have the chance to share my heart with you,

I`ll never be the one to fix your tie every morning,

I`ll never be the first one to say how nice you smell.

I`ll never be the person to open up to you,

Telling you my innermost secrets that no one knows,

I`ll never be carried in your arms as you take me upstairs,

You will never lift me off the ground as I look into your eyes,

And think to myself just how blessed I am to have you in my life.

Looking at your photograph I realize I`ll never dance with you,

At night and you will never know why my heart beats,

You will never know which tune I`m playing as I stare at you,

Looking into your eyes I realize that seeing you,

And knowing you are not mine hurts a lot but I am glad it does.
